Week #9: FAMILY

It seems like once September arrives, thoughts begin turning tentatively toward the year-end holidays and the extra time many of us are given to spend with family and friends.  For some, this coming Sunday is Grandparents' Day and what a wonderful thing it is to take some of our precious time and send just a little love to a grandparent or someone we consider to be just like one!  This week, we're going to think about FAMILY!

You're all quickly becoming family to us here at CASology and we're so thankful for your support!

Now let's take a look at what the design team has created for this week's inspiration!

Debbie, last week's winner, is joining us as our guest designer!

  design defined:
A visual triangle, formed by the focal image and the sentiment/candy dots provides balance.  The common color palette, repeated in the image, DSP and candy dots adds a pleasing cohesiveness to the design.

Rosemary
design defined:
The smaller focal point on the card works by using a softer color for the block of color and a brighter color for the onesie.

Tracey
design defined:
By choosing a card base that co-ordinates or compliments the focal panel, it allows the card to have breathing room.  Debossing the focal panel adds interest without overtaking the design.

Ardyth
design defined:
A white card base can help ensure there is enough breathing space around a large image with bold colours.

Jen

The orange gems tie the sentiment to the image and keep it from just floating in space.

Embellishments definitely have a place on CAS cards as long as they are simple and carefully placed.

Now go have fun and don't forget to link up your FAMILY creations by Sunday at noon (CST)!

  1. Thanks for the perfect challenge this week. With our new grandson arriving last week, a baby is the new addition to our "family", and a baby card was in order.
